S/V Concordia Sinks

The flagship of Lunenburg, N.S.-based West Island College's Class Afloat program, ran into trouble about 555 kilometres off the coast of Rio de Janeiro Thursday night after it was flipped upside down in strong winds, a news release from the Brazilian navy said. All 64 people aboard a Canadian tall ship, including 48 high school and university students, have been rescued off the coast of Brazil after encountering "catastrophic problems," the school's head said Friday morning.
